The Essex Bar Mess has well over 100 members who regularly practise in criminal, family and civil law in the major Crown and County Court centres in and around Essex. Renowned for its friendliness, the Mess holds an annual dinner in November/December each year which is well attended by the Bar and Judiciary alike.

The Mess enjoys an excellent relationship with the Essex Judiciary enabling complaints/concerns/criticisms to be raised promptly. The mess is also represented on the SEC Committee.
